October 30, 2023: The Sign of the Rose

I don't even remember where or when I first heard this quote. I know that I discovered Anais Nin and her Diaries in college and was immediately enamored having grown up on Anne Frank. Very different women, but both were able to draw me into their worlds with their words.

Outside the Diaries I encountered this particular quote in myriad times and places and found it so resonant that I adopted it as something a person motto for some time. Much like roses generally it shows up at opportune moments as something of a bread crumb or sign post indicating which road to travel by next.
