October 9, 2023: The Sign of the Rose

I love this image in the midst of King's epic Dark Tower series of the vibrant rose, that grows beautifully out of the murk of an abandoned lot, seemingly self-illuminating in the midst of literal and metaphorical darkness. I love the thought of it quietly continuing to sing it's song, even on the ugliest of days; the refrain of "all will be well" calling to mind the serenity of 14 the century English mystic Julian of Norwich.
